Hey y'all

So this is a big filler. Well, it won't be big (as in long) just a filler cuz I'm still kinda sick and I really want to do a music kind of video so I need to wait longer till my voice will be good as new.

Sorry for not commenting, doing posts or anything in general. I've been super busy with my school and stuff so I haven't had a load of time for the blog or anything.

New things that have happened:

-my team won our soccer league. yay! but for some dumb rule, we hav to play against the other league winners to see who moves up to the Premiere League

-I'm on the field hockey team. Me and my friend Misia (pronounced mee-sha like Mischa Barton) are the only gr. 9s

-uh, i kinda met a guy. we kinda argue about a lot of things but it's not that big of a deal. but i'm betting everybody nothing will ever happen. i think i hav some guy shield or something that lets them be my friends but nothing more.

-going to the Stratford Festival. Stratford is a place in Ontario that holds this play festival for 2 0r 3 days and they usually do Shakespeare stuff. My whole program (I'm in this special math and science program) will be going

Well, that's all. Hopefully my voice will be better by Friday. But you never know.

No Longer a Virgin to Virgin Festival

Hey y'all, this is a just a quick post because I HAVE to pack today for my trip to Pinecrest tomorrow (4 days!)!

Anyways, this Sunday I went to Vfest and it was pretty awesome. Here's some highlights and the MAJOR lowlight of the whole day.

HIGHLIGHTS:

-free stuff. seriously, they LOVE to give u free stuff, whether for Future Shop, candy, Subway gift cards, bags, they give it out. I now have a nice bag of loot (in a nice bag from Motorola haha)

-discovering new bands. So, I definitely found out about new bands that I didn't know about (the Weakerthans, Silversun Pickups and now I really should listen to the Stereophonics I put on my iPod) but the definite best band I now know about was Paper Lions. I listened to their set because I thought the name was cool and sounded like me (if u go to muchmusic's blog, one girl said the exact same thing haha), so my cousin and I went to the centre and the front of the stage (hardly anybody was their at first) and the music was fun, moving, energetic. Plus they LOVED to talk to the crowd. It's nice when they do that so people can connect with the band. Also got their autographs AND 2 of the members photo with us. yays!

-the crowd. This was the BIGGEST concert/festival I've been to with over 25 000. INSANE. People came from ALL OVER (1 guy came from S. Carolina) just to see bands (specifically Oasis, more on that later). I kinda hated the pot smoking and the crowd surfers but that was the first time I've been to a venue with them so it was pretty cool (not that I did any of those things, just interesting to experience it). I find that while I hate standing and all, the crowd does pump you and motivate you and make you laugh (so many jokes now!! haha) Pretty awesome.

and for the one LOWLIGHT:

-Oasis

ya, I KNOW. I LOVE OASIS. Cool music and the lyrics, it all works. And they did do their job, but here's why it's the lowlight.

Ok, so go to about 1:30 and you will see some idiot/moron/bastard ATTACK Noel. Then Liam tries to fight the attacker but the people hold him back (WHY????). Honestly, everybody in the crowd (over 20 000 people!!) was going to kill that guy (we were chanting "fuck that guy up.").

Oasis still played but they definitely weren't happy so the set was cut short (very short) and didn't do an encore (or sing Champagne Supernova!!! But they did sing "The Walrus" SING UR OWN SONG!)

Ya, it was a great festival (even with the moron) and I'm probably gonna come back again and again just to hear more music. BUT at least I know some pretty good tips (like to get in as much sitting time as possible!) so I'll be prepared.

So, when I get back, because of this whole festival thing and me going to see Feist in November (gasp! ANOTHER concert.), I'm gonna do outfits with every concert wear (mostly tees) I have. Sound cool?? Also, since my cousin had a better camera, I'll post pics from the festival next post too!

Hey there!! Firstly, I am super sorry that I haven't posted in so long. High school is INSANE (in a good way of course). And then soccer last night made me SO tired (we won and are REALLY close to winning the league) so that's why I haven't made comments on some people's blog (like ellie's!!!i hav to read SO many posts this weekend).

Anywhoo, last Saturday I went to Kensington Market (best vintage area for Torontonians!) and first of all, I know that vintage shops get that musky kind of smell and sometimes it gets a little strong but I don't mind but there was one store that smelled like a really bad restroom. But this little dress was in a nice store with no smell and I was quite happy about that haha. It really has this diner feel to it and I love the colour (it looks pretty bold against my skin tone so I think that works haha). But there was one area that looked bulgy (stupid unflat stomach) so I just added the belt and voila! Problem solved.

So, since my school is quite awesome (and so is the program that I'm in), I am going on 3 trips in the span of 4 weeks. Seriously. I AM SO FRIGGIN HAPPY!

Missing school + hanging out with really interesting people + doing really cool activities= SUPREME UTTERLY FANTASTIC FEELING!!!

Sorry, I HAD to say that. But anyways, this means that I won't have a post up so soon! I know, just egg my house already (must do that to someone soon...hey I'm not ALWAYS nice, I LOVE revenge). But I will try to do my best and hopefully can do a post on VFest (with pics!).

Guys, I have to say this last month of blogging fashion has been fun. It's cool that I finally hit the double digits and have found new blogs that I love and enjoy. So, thank you very much.

So now my hair is darker and has a reddish tone. Ya, the pic is crap but I'm not taking another one. Also, instead of my usual wavy hair that gets blowed dried, I asked the stylist to straighten it cuz whenever I do it, it's crap. So this is a nice change. It looks better wavy but it's nice to know what it looks like REALLY straight.

so, when I bought my VFest tickets, they didn't have any small bands or anything yet, just the headliners of Foo Fighters and Oasis. So I obviously choose Oasis (cuz the Foo Fighters are VERY annoying). So then I start to see that since Oasis is the much better headliner, that the Foos get all the good openers: The Fratellis, Wintersleep, Constantines AND MGMT. But Oasis had Paul Weller and the Cribs so I was happy. UNTIL THE CRIBS BACKED OUT. I have no idea why they did this but now I AM REALLY ANGRY. GRRRRR... teaches me to buy tickets early.

Guys, I'm sorry that I've not done a post yet, especially since school is drawing nearer. BUT I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE by this sunday, a new fashion post will be up.

Anywhoo, today is probably the greatest night of my life. Or one of the greatest.

WHY??

Did I get a part in a Narnia movie so I can finally meet the guy of my dreams, Mr. Skandar Keynes? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (I wish)

I just got the first goal of my entire rep soccer career. As most of my friends hardly play any sports, THIS IS A BIG DEAL. A MAJOR DEAL. LIKE THIS IS WHY I TELL THE WHOLE BLOG WORLD DEAL BECAUSE IT'S SO BIG.

Since I play stopper (aka DEFENCE) to get a goal IS BIG. I can give you the break down here but it's pretty boring. Actually this whole post is boring so WHATEVER.

Ball bounces towards me. No one beside me. I run, line up my foot and kick it. Hard. It soars high into the air. So high you can't judge where it will land. The goalie has her hands in the air, ready to catch after the ball bounces. Ball bounces, goalie jumps, misses ball, ball into net. Here's where I scream the phrase: OMIGOD, I JUST SCORED!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

ya, that was the shindig. I was already feeling like crap since I gave a penalty kick last game. THIS MADE UP FOR IT.

Hey-lo to you too, fellow blogonians. Thanks supercalifragilisticexpialidocious for the comments! I have finally hit the double digits (CELEBRATE NOW!!!)

So, I just found about the queen of new ska (aka Gwen Stefani) and her hubby had their second kid. I was exited, not because of what the gender is or who he/she (it is a he) would resemble more but of the anticipated name of the child. Normally, if this was a family member or someone else I know, the name isn't as big as a deal because generally, they want something classy/sophisticated/nice/normal etc. so the naming isn't as extravagant. BUT since it's a celeb, they MUST MUST MUST outdo all of the other celebrities who named their kids strange. So, I decided to do a post dedicated to this manner.

10. David Duchovny and Tea Leoni-Kyd Miller Duchovny

What was the inspiration?? They were like "Hey, this is our second kid. Hmmm, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT NAME??" I'm just imagining the confusion whenever someone yells out the word "kid"

9. Rob Morrow-Tu Morrow

If none of you guys know who this guy is, he plays the cop brother on Numb3rs, FYI. I like the occasional pun here and then but I want to know if he named his daughter as a joke. Honestly, is this going to help her??? I don't think so.

8. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale- Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale

I was pretty excited when I heard Gwen was preggers again and hoped for a baby Gwen. To my dismay, Gwen had another son whose name sounds like a girl's. It's not that I hate it, I just find it to be more feminine. Plus, why Rock as a middle name? His brother's name sounds so majestic and Zuma's name is...well, sinking like a rock.

7. Nicolas Cage- Kal-El

Nic Cage said he wanted something exotic and still very American. So why not name your kid after Superman. Clark isn't bad. But Mr. Cage decided that it wasn't good enough so let's name him what Superman was originally called Kal-El, son of Jor-El. Isn't there a better way of showing your love for comics??

6. Sylvester Stallone- Sage Moonblood

I'm giving some props to Sly just because he made sure the weirder name is not her first name. Still, you had to use the word "blood" in it someway, didn't you? (Note: what is Moonblood??)

5. Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow- Apple Blythe Allison Martin

Ok, I love both of these people. And the name isn't that strange. First of all, Apple is on here because if you add an "i" to Martin, her name would be Apple Martini (great job!). Also, upon reading Gwyneth's explanation on why they named her Apple, Gwyneth hardly seemed to know herself. Finally, last month Chris (who I still like) said this, quote "There's nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca if that's what you want to call your baby". Chris, THERE ARE MANY THINGS WRONG WITH YOU IF YOU NAME YOUR KID AFTER A WOOKIE. That's why Apple is on the list.

4. Frank Zappa- any of his kids

Ok, if none of you guys know, Frank has named all his children VERY strangely. His kids' names are: Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen. Ya, he had a pretty cool last name but I think I would trade it for Smith if my first name was any one of those.

3. Penn Jillette- Moxie Crimefighter

Here we are folks, take 1 magician and a lady and PRESTO! You get Moxie Crimefighter. Really, it's bad enough you had to name her after a soda (which tastes awful) but you just had to give her a career also?? At least if she somehow receives Daddy's "magical" skills, she already has a name for that character.

I don't hate Jason Lee. He's somewhat entertaining on My Name's Earl, he seems to be not into the Hollywood Scene a lot, he sounds like a regular guy gone famous. SO WHY DID HE NAME HIS KID THIS??? I don't even know how to pronounce the 3rd name and why is Inspector spelled with a "K"?? It's all truly mind boggling. What's the kid's nickname? Pi?? Here is a true example of a celeb kid who may end up killing his self/father/mother/anybody because of the name he was stricken with.

Well, that's my list but when you comment (and please do comment!), why don't you add some names you find weird, or who I should put in a different spot, etc. Next post will have lots of outfits, I promise.

Back to School Special (with Sports!)

Hi there! So, besides watching the Beijing '08 24/7, this Saturday I went to the States for some BTS (back to school) shopping (which kinda sucked since I had to miss Phelps' last race...argh). So I actually got lots of stuff that I wanted...so much that my room is a pig sty now. Really it's almost impossible to get to my closet. Observe.

Ya, ugly, messy, horrible. Will do something about it...later. So, besides getting things like pens, calendar and locker stuff, I HAD to get new clothes (it's high school!!!). So I went to places like Macy's, Forever 21, PacSun and Urban Outfitters (though I didn't get clothes from there)

So, I remember Sam from the Wandering Alchemist talking about how sometimes there are clothes that are just made for you and I was like "ya but I CAN'T FIND THEM!!" Until now!! I saw this skirt from F21 and i chose the 2 sizes (it differs) I generally fit in when i saw the dress. It's like a Mondrian piece. And it fit just right and I believe it was like 25 dollars! I was SO FRIGGIN HAPPY. I already had an outfit in my head so here it is!

Also happy to announce Canada has FINALLY got medals. I seriously thought we were never gonna get any but look at us now! Yay! Hopefully we can get some gold when it comes to Vancouver (we've NEVER EVER won gold when the Olympics came to Calgary and Montreal. It's so sad). Also pissed off at the judges giving Nastia silver when she tied with the Chinese girl (who's probably underage). They should have done a tie breaker. ALSO, did anyone see Liu Xiang walk off the track??? SO SAD! I wanted to give him a big hug. I also read that they had a press conference and that his coach cried multiple times and said he's struggled with that tendon for years. What a tragedy.

Ya, maybe should make this more Olympian??? haha, no that would make this blog lamer than it already is but maybe should do more sports inspired outfit??? No, somehow I'm thinking I would screw it up majorly and resemble this girl...ok, NOT THAT BAD but somehow thinking it won't be good (ok, does ANYONE think she looks beautiful?? honestly, why???)

Going Mad For Plaid

Evening folks! First of all, I would like to say that the lack of posts is not because I hate you lovely peoples. I am very busy with watching the Olympics (haha, yes that is all I do besides eating, sleeping, playing soccer and going to the library). Can I say that Eamon Sullivan, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte are cute! I want a swimmer BF! haha

So, like all my friends (Sugar Pop and Jazzer have blogs!), I have this thing with plaid. It wasn't as apparent in my younger years but I guess since I met so many Scottish teens (who are now friends) on my October cruise, it's been rising (along with my desire to go to the UK). Anyways, a few years back, my dad went to his graduation ceremony for his MBA, which was in Scotland. As a souvenir, he brought back kilts for my mom, sister and I. While I can't wear the one I got (I've grown quite a bit since I was 7) my mom was like "You can take mine, I don't like it". So, now I've got an actual Scottish kilt and since I'm being cheap right now, I'm calling it vintage since it's been 7 years since we first bought it (I consider clothing vintage once 5 years since anyone wore it. It's reasonable).

Getting Ready For Fall

y'ello! I'd like to send a shout out to those who commented! I love reading them!

So here's the outfit that was supposed to be featured in the last post but due to circumstances with the laundry, it had to be postponed.

This is kind of a "fall" outfit with the knit dress and the tights (not like you can't wear it in the summer, just would be too warm I feel).

Voila! The photographs!

dress: Sirens (sorta slutty store but dress was $10 so I got it)

tank (underneath): Aeropostale (mom got from Vegas for like $2)

tights: American Apparel (probably should do a post with other coloured tights I got from there...)

flats (hardly shown): Macy's (kinda resemble ballet shoes)

bracelet (wood): Greece (SISTERHOOD! yes I'm gonna keep saying this LOL)

bracelet (cord): gift from family (sorta like Cartier's Love silk cord bracelet but instead of rings, it's a skull)

OK, I do LIKE the outfit but there are 2 things that would make it BETTER (because you can ALWAYS improve an outfit!):

-mary jane like shoes

-a belt

So, I can't show you guys a pic but if you go to Forever 21's website and find the Andrea Mary Jane, I REALLY REALLY WANT THAT!!! I think it would look better with the outfit rather than the flats (it would make me look taller! tho, sugar pop of Meet The Freak already thinks I'm tall, hehe)

And when I go to the States this weekend I'm definitely buying a skinny and wide belt for other outfits and this one since it needs a splash of colour in that sea of grey.

Finally, I HAD to show you guys a somewhat new addition to my family. She's cute and warm and she's all MINE. haha, here she is MY CAT CINDERS!!!!

Isn't she adorable??? I actually didn't want to name her Cinders (my sister's idea) because I was never a fan of Cinderella (plus, naming her because of what colour she is sorta lame). I wanted to name her Vienna but my sis is like 'THAT'S A SAUSAGE" instead of thinking about the beautiful and historical city Vienna, Austria is. But she won her fight. Whatever, the cat likes ME better, haha.

To Skate or Not To Skate

welcome again! thanks for all of the comments. maybe during the school year, i'll do some random pics of what i wore.

So, I was SUPPOSED to do this kind of fall outfit with a wool dress and all BUT my nanny (who i love) decided to wash the tights and the dress I was gonna use so have to wait for that one. So, you have to look at this outfit instead.

Uh, I'm not really a skater (running is more my style) but if I could skate well (I kinda skate but everyone would laugh at how bad I am) I can totally see myself where this. It's not "fashion-y" or anything (more like what I usually wear) but I think it's pretty cute so decided to show you guys (why not?)

MAMMA MIA MOVIE TIME!

hey folks! first of all thank u for the lovely comments! it's quite nice to get them u kno!

anywhoo, I actually saw Mamma Mia about last week but got home so late that I didn't bother to take any good pics. So, before "fashion time" decided to tell you a little about the movie.

HIGHLIGHTS:

-plot (just like the Broadway show! so simple and is nice from Hollywood's same old stories)

-the cast (I found Amanda Seyfried's character in Mean Girls hilarious and even though I'm not a huge fan of Meryl Streep, her singing and acting were very cool. plus Colin Firth was there too.)

-the songs (ok, seriously, who DOES NOT want to stand in their seat and just belt out "Dancing Queen"?? it's everybody's guilty pleasure!)

- setting (I'm not sure where they filmed it but it really reminded me of Santorini and the town of Oia (SISTERHOOD!!!) and it was probably one of the most beautiful places I visited so seeing another Greek town that looked awesome was cool)

LOWLIGHTS:

-older/younger relationship (ok, this is a semi-spoiler but one of the friends of Meryl's has this semi-relationship with a guy like 20 years younger than her. i kno it's part of the story but still, ew!)

-Pierce Brosnan (acting was all right but really, he can't sing. like he's not a William Hung or anything but you kinda cringe when his mouth starts to sing the lyrics)

It's pretty different from what I wear on a regular basis and definitely more girly. But I always find my style has more "California" in it because it's very simple and kinda beachy so I really like this look. Next post is either gonna be something for school (so like heavier material) or an update on a DIY which I have like 3 sorta in the works.

FIRST FASHION POST!

ok, so now that it's August, I'll be doing fashion posts because I feel like it and once September comes, I may have some new material, music-wise. Which is always good.

So, right now, I'm not really going to do a full "fashion" post yet, because I think it would be best if you guys saw what I basically wear everyday because you get a sense of what I generally like and how sometimes I change it (that's what most likely I'm gonna be doing in future fashion posts).

THE CONCERT THAT KNOCKS YOUR SOCKS OFF!

Hey peoples!

OK, so I KNOW I would put up concert photos here, UNFORTUNATELY, do to my crap seat (3rd level!) and that they took away our Nikon D60, my cell was the only thing to use as my camera and it wasn't very good, so I can't put photos up (VERY VERY SORRY!!). Well, the concert was SO FRIGGIN' AMAZING. The whole crowd was just kinda waiting for Coldplay to get on the stage (i think it was like a bit after 9 before they came on and we thought it was gonna start earlier...) but once they started to play "Life In Technicolour" EVERYBODY WENT CRAZY. Like everybody screaming at once and all of us just waiting for the sheer black curtains to come up, it was insane!!!!!!! So, I COULD give you guys a recap on EVERY song they played but a) you would probably start to hate the post cuz it would be too long and b) i can't remember the complete order they played in. Instead, here's a list of songs (only the first 3 songs and the last song are in the right order) they played.

It was so cool with Chris dancing all around the stage, Jonny playing his guitar hard, Will murdering the drums (in a good way of course) and Guy just calmly doing his bass thing. And they kept moving! One part they went to this little lighted stage and performed a few songs there and then randomly they went up to one of the stair entrances and sang "The Scientist" and then had Will sing a song because tomorrow was his first birthday of his 30s (which means it's today!). I of course got the expensive merchandise (bag and t-shirt) and I kept hopping up and down because of the concert buzz.

BUT there was one thing that ruined the night! When Santogold (the opening act) was playing, these 2 random older people with Coldplay All Access passes went to our section and the people BEHIND me, got front row tickets!!! I WAS SO PISSED THAT THE 2 SQUEALY GIRLS GOT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO, here are 2 tips if you EVER want to be in that position (it's a long shot but these tips I believe will help you!)
1. Buy a shirt (yes, the shirt is actually useful!) and then immediately wear it (this is what I didn't do...)
2. Go with friends or family who looks young (i.e a sibling or cousin) not your parents (i went with my mom)

WHY???
BECAUSE they want screaming kids who want to fling themselves on the stage at the front, NOT me and my mom who basically hates all kinds of music (ok, not hate just doesn't like) and is most likely to sleep (I love you mom but seriously, STOP SLEEPING!) during the concert.
With the binoculars (well, we knew our seats sucked so we brought them to get better looks at the guys faces) i think i saw a larger group (all wearing T-shirts and no parents in site) also get front row tickets (pretty sure same people gave it to them!). I was pretty upset. So I vowed that if I ever got big or worked with someone big (most likely 2nd option) that I would put kids with their parents in the front because I know what it feels like to have to bring your parent because friends can't come .

Changing It Up!

Hey there!

OK, so thanks for the comments! I'll probably try doing some more videos later, maybe with some original composition and instrument playing (we'll see...). So, hating to brag (well, sorta lol) but this Wednesday I'm seeing Coldplay live! WOO HOO! I have very HIGH standards for this concert (since it sold out SO fast!1 minute people!) so hopefully they won't disappoint (they just did Vancouver's first Pemberton Festival!). I'll probably do a post on what songs they did and shit and take photos and post them up here.

Anyways, since it's getting VERY close to the opening of school (one more month peoples!), I decided to do some new blog posts of a different variation. So for the whole month of August, I'll do fashion posts. Ya, it's kinda weird but I think a) it'll be a little easier for me to do them while I think of new music posts and b) I have some cool stuff and my friend wants me to post pictures of my latest DIY onto here, so this would be easier to tie it in with. Also, maybe people will see this more...haha, SURE THEY WILL. But I love everyone who already reads this craptastic blog!

Well, right now I'm gonna prepare for soccer (GO STRIKERS! I play defence!) and then later this week it will be the Coldplay and first fashion post of August!

seriously, WHY DID I DO THIS??? I can just imagine everybody laughing at this thinking I can sing. I like to think of myself as somewhat fearless (um, roller coasters are basically my life) but even simple things like just talking to a guy, just make me go into that shell (what a nice shell it is though!) But decided got to do something cool on this blog, you know?

I think I recorded this like 3 times and even then it's not perfect (at the bridge kinda area, you get this kinda weird feedback cuz I sang too loud. sry!) But it had the least amount of mistakes/off-keys (I'm REALLY hard on myself, cuz that's the only way I hear it), so I decided to use it.

Top 5 Most Annoying Teeny Boppers

hey peoples! Right now I'm on vacation (will do a post about that later) and using my mother's computer for this post. So, some time ago, the Jonas Bros. came to Toronto and unfortunately, I know people who saw them and of course were ECSTATIC about it. So, I decided to do a post counting down the Disney singers/stars that bother me the most. Here we go!

5. Demi Lovato

So, while she hasn't turned into the mega teen celeb Miley Cyrus (more on her later), Demi is just a self-titled debut CD away from it. Argh, really, her character from Camp Rock was so annoying (how generic good girl of her to stand up for herself and shit) and getting the guy in the end? How surprising! But this girl scares me because her voice is so whiny and when she was "performing" during the movie, it scared the shit out of me. Her mouth was just too open and then she kept flailing her arms around, it was not a pretty sight. Just wait for her to rise through the charts and to hear her voice over and over on the radio

4. The Cast of High School Musical

Ok, Corbin has to stop "pushing it" and Ashley needs to learn that no one cares what he or she says because all of these songs are making me INSANE. It's one thing to say that you are going to do a CD because you were a part of HSM but I hate it so much when they are all "I'm going for an R&B kinda thing" or "It's gonna be so edgy". IT'S ALL BUBBLE GUM POP! THAT'S IT! I'm waiting for them to get their heads in the game and realize that they have to look at other career options once HSM 3 is out.

3. Jonas Brothers

Can someone tell me what's so great about them? Is it the fact that Kevin is waiting to come out of the closet (does anybody think he's gay also??)? Or that all of them need a haircut (eww, Kevin's sideburns)? Does anybody understand what makes all girls go crazy over them, they're just guys who look like they haven't hit puberty (and Nick is 2 years older than me) and who's songs are mediocre. I just wished that they're promise rings stood for them promising to stop making music.

2. Miley Cyrus

ha, bet you thought that the reigning teen queen would be topping this list but I have someone more annoying than her (how can that be?!). Look, even though I can't STAND her music, I can understand why she gets so much money. Here's a basic breakdown.

1. First, she gets money from sales of the 1st Hannah Montana CD and good ratings from her show.

2. More money from DVD sales of episodes plus ratings increasing in Season 2 boost her earnings. O and she realeases 2 CDS so that she gets double the cash.

3. Concerts, movie about the concerts and a DVD also help along with merchandise from TV show and concerts.

SEE?! LOOK AT ALL THE PLACES SHE CAN GET MONEY FROM! It sucks to see a girl who releases such uninspired music earn SO MUCH CASH! Really, I never want to see her again.

And the number one most annoying teeny bopper in 3...

1. Hilary Duff

While I find Miley more irritating than Ms. Duff (because she's more current), I can't forget the years I spent covering my ears to Hil's music. She is the original teen queen (and Miley's idol!) and basically started the whole trend of Disney actresses going into the music business. First with Lizzie Macguire then doing the movie then releasing her CDs, all of that just really really bugged me. When I heard her singles on the TV they all sounded so robotic and synthesized. While the ones above are probably more of an annoyance now, it's because of Hilary's actions that so many are walking the same pack, which makes her number 1.

Band of the Week: Edition 2!

Band of the Week: Digitalism

So, I live in Canada. And just as many people see videos on youtube and other web video sites, I see some of mine on muchmusic.com (it's basically a Canadian MTV, even though we do have a Canadian MTV). So they placed advertisements before the videos and one was from Virgin Mobile. And they kept playing this song over and over. I do a little research and find my Band of the Week. Here is the ad.

I learned that the song was called "Pogo" (it does not relate to the corn dogs that make me sick) and it is seriously awesome. Another techno-esque band, I really love the sound they produce. It's very slick and cool and I find that once again, this should be played at parties and not rap (see Rant Time for the whole thing). Also, as a cool note, I found out about this band before the people at MuchMusic (ok, for future reference, MuchMusic when on TV is very Top 40 BUT their blog, found at the website muchmusic.com, is different and is always looking for different sounds, such as this band, so I thought it was cool that I beat them to it, since they usually beat me)

ok, for some very weird reason, people actually thought this blog was cool (ok, semi-cool) and that I should continue. So I am and I will start off with a countdown.
5 Bands/Singers I Would Like To See In Concert

5. Jack's MannequinSo, back in the day, I used to watch One Tree Hill and heard this song on the show. Go on the net, research a bit and bang! I find out about this band. With Andrew McMahon's voice and the soulful lyrics plus some cool piano playing, seeing them would definitely be a lighter up in the air experience (or as seen in their Mixed Tape vid, a cellphone in the air experience).

4. Radiohead Ok, so I'm not the biggest Radiohead fan but I have to love their musicality. While the lyrics are nonsense (hey, I'm not being mean, even Thom Yorke stated that ALL his lyrics were nonsense so I'm just using his words!) the drums, the guitars, everything makes you feel so many different things. Just being in concert would be a rush of emotions which would only make that night completely spectacular!

3. Kate Nash Kate Nash reminds me of myself in a bad mood. Which is to say, don't get in her way or else your idiocy is gonna turn into a smash hit (well, the smash hit part is different, for her it means a good song, to me it means that I'm gonna kick you) She talks about failed relationships and mundane objects but it all seems to come together in the end. I can imagine at her concerts, all the inspiration she would bring to myself since she talks about things we can all relate to.

2. The Ting Tings I've already talked about how much I love the Ting Tings, so it's only right that I want to go to their concert. This is actually a concert full of music that would make everybody dance or move or sing along. It just has that right beat and that tune which is only satisfied by doing something. Unfortunately, their concert here was for the 19+ crowd which meant that I couldn't go see them. 'Tis a shame. And the number 1 group I loved to see in concert...

1. Roisin Murphy Here is a person who is completely unique. From her style to her lyrics and to the the genre she produces, Roisin is a lady that knows what she is and embraces it. I want to see her concerts because they just seem that they would be full of unexpected stuff and that makes her concerts truly her own.

A Last Post (Possibly)

O shucks, it seems that no one wants to read this blog! (man o man, am i that bad???) So, this maybe my last post. What is the point if no one reads this?

So, for this (probably) last post, I will post the lyrics that I sang in the span of 5 minutes and can write down now. One of my favourite artists right now is Feist so when I was kind of singing this impromptu song, I was kind of going with a Feist feel. I think it's a song sorta similar to her style but care to critique if you must. What is this about? Up to your own interpretation, I will only post what I was singing about if I get some comments from people (ya, that way I know people actually read this haha). RANT TIME!

haha, sry that I have been away for awhile, thought people could post more (and they did, up to 4 now peoples!)

OK, so right now I just graduated gr.8 (yes, very sad indeed) and yesterday night, we had our grad party/dance/dinner. So why would I rant about this? Grad is supposed to be a time full of fun and laughs and tears and LOTS MORE! Well, right now I will talk about the DJ and well more importantly the MUSIC. AND MY QUESTION IS...

Why do DJs think rap is a good genre to dance too???

OK, I'm not a huge fan of rap, I like the occasional song and all but really, it's at the bottom of my list. But there are lots of people who do like rap, and what I don't get is how you dance to it? Ya there are some songs that I don't really like but AT LEAST there is a beat you can dance to (example: Whine Up) but stuff by Lil' Wayne and by Flo Rida, seriously, the ONLY way you can dance is by looking like a whore (i.e. you gyrate your butt and do this in front of a guy or with a bunch of girls in a line). HONESTLY, I know some of my favourite music is hard to dance and stuff but can't they play Daft Punk or Ok Go or possibly the Fray for slow songs? DOES IT ALL NEED TO BE OF THE RAP/R&B GENRE???

seriously! I AM IN NEED OF A MUSICAL REVOLUTION FOR DANCES (haha, reference to Esthero!).

Band of the Week!

Well, it's been another day of blogging again with comments (still 2!) but I will persevere.

So, for this post I decided to do a Band of the Week thing where I just highlight one of my favourite bands of the moment and talk about why there music is so damn cool and why people should take a listen.

Today's Band: The Ting Tings!

Lately, I've been becoming more and more of a fan of UK bands (possibly because of my Scot friends or that they just make really cool music) and one of those bands are the Ting Tings. Now, I bet you think I started to notice them because of that Apple commercial (with Shut Up and Let Me Go) but actually I started to notice them when I started to watch the web series, Sofia's Diary (get a Bebo account to see the episodes!)

Now, personally when I heard they were kind of techno, I really thought I would hate them since most techno to me is pretty boring but I gave it a chance and realized these guys were awesome! Formed by Jules De Martino and Katie White, these guys produced loud, in your face, dancing music with in the cheek lyrics that make you want to sing (or shout) along. Right now, my fave song is That's Not My Name (partly because so many people get that wrong with me and I know there name. Morons).

If you haven't checked out this band, go to their Myspace (at http://www.myspace.com/thetingtings) and take a listen to their album, We Started Nothing (which I find ironic since they started a huge craze for dance-pop-techno).

Hopefully with more comments I can post some lyrics which took me a full 5 minutes to sing and possibly 15 minutes to write down so if you want to see them, comment please!

Comments and Concerts!

Well, thanks to all those who commented (ahem, it was 2) but even with the low number, it's getting my spirit up in a way.

Ok, this blog is going to be about some of the concerts I've been to and you can start to see the kind of music I'm liking and how my style can be similar when I start to post my lyrics and possibly some performances on my webcam.

Since it will take forever for me to blog about every concert I've been to right now, I'll just do my first and second. My first concert was an Avril Lavigne. BUT before you decide to leave, I now think her music is pretentious and that she has become which she used to mock before. Anyways, the seats were ok and the band before her was all right. She came out, performed songs, played the drums and piano and that was it. All in all, not the greatest concert but a good one for a starter, you know, with all the screaming fans and stuff.

Fast forward a couple years later and you have me, in gr.7 trying to explore the newer and different genres, away from the Top 40 crowd and stuff, where I decided to get tickets to a newish band called Marianas Trench. Different crowd and different venue was a nice change from my old self and they were very amped and pretty cool to the crowd. This is where I also got my first glance at Faber Drive, who are kind of like a pop rock sorta thing. Not super great or anything but not bad on the radio (as compared to Hannah Montana, ugh).

So, as you can see I am making a move from pop music into different sub genres of rock and indie type of stuff. And this ends my post

Hello Blog World! Meet Me, Monty!

Hello, if you can't tell I am going to be a really bad blogger. Expect me to have spelling errors and random thoughts and loads of other stuff but honestly, if nobody visits (except moi!) all will be lost of course!

So, the point of the blog. Well, I am an inspiring artist (how many times have you heard that phrase?) in lots of areas but mostly music. I get lots of weird ideas in my head and sometimes with luck they are able to be formed into words and with a tune, into lyrics. So, I am trying to become an artist. I know there are other ways to become one like with drama (which I also try to do, with some success I think) or fashion (please check out meet the freak's blog if you haven't because she is my absolute friend and her style is impeccable) but to me, music can be a calling so that's what I'm here to do.

So, here, I'll write down lots of lyrics, talk about my favourite bands and concerts and possibly, show you a video of me singing (I've heard it's good but honestly I do like 500 takes of 1 song cause I feel I am off key).
